Tintin cars at 1/12 scale, numbered limited edition

The 1/12 scale takes these vehicles out of the showcase miniature category and brings them closer to the model. At this size, the body restores the details of a 1930s automobile in their reality: individually mounted spoked wheels, worked grille, upholstery and dashboard treated separately. These are the most imposing pieces in the catalogue after the large rocket, and the only ones that require a specifically sized shelf.

At 1/12 scale, the spoked wheels are mounted individually on their axle, the upholstery treated separately from the chassis, the chrome parts in their distinct shine: this is the level of detail of a cabinetmaker's model, not a decorative object.

The automobiles designed by Hergé date his albums as precisely as a photograph. Dr. Finney's Torpedo belongs to the British period of the series, the one where the visual references were the most documented.
