Civa from the Imaginary Museum: the young prince of Asian albums
Civa is the son of the Maharajah of Rawhajpoutalah, a character in albums from the Asian period. Hergé dressed him as an Indian prince from the 1930s, wearing a turban, tunic and embroidered shoes, with the carefreeness of a court child who has not yet learned to hide what he thinks. The hand-painted resin restores the bright colors of the fabrics that Hergé's clear line imposed in these albums.
This single figurine completes the composition of the Maharajah and his son in a collection which aims to cover the two characters separately.
Hergé's Asian period in statuette
Civa belongs to the founding albums of the series, those where Hergé constructed the narrative logic and the graphic style which determined everything thereafter.
