Professor Calculus rocket taking off: the moment of propulsion

It is not the rocket at rest that Tintinimaginatio has chosen for this piece, it is the moment of takeoff: the base worked to recreate the ejection of gases, the launch posture which distinguishes this composition from the series of vertical rockets. Hergé drew this departure in Objectif Lune with a visual tension which comes from the very posture of the object, tilted slightly, in movement.

The resin is painted by hand in the Tintinimaginatio workshops. The base with the flames is the most technical element of the piece: the work of colors on the translucent resin mimics the ejection without resorting to artificial lighting.
