Collectoys Obélix and his barrel: the hero and his resin drink
Obélix is represented with his barrel, in the posture of the drinker who appreciates what he consumes: his arms around the barrel, the satisfied expression, the plump posture that Uderzo gave him from the first albums. The barrel is reproduced in resin with its staves and metal hoops simulated by the paint.
The resin allows this scale to work the barrel in its details: the junctions between the staves, the bung on the side, the metal hoop in relief. The color of the barrel's wood is distinct from Obelix's complexion, which gives the composition its two visual centers.
