Pixi pub Spirou, 275 copies: Blutch and Chesterfield for the newspaper
The composition brings together Blutch and Chesterfield in the posture of an advertising poster for the Spirou newspaper: the two soldiers side by side, impeccable uniforms for the occasion, with the attitude of stars posing for a magazine photographer rather than two soldiers at war. It is a deliberate break in tone in the collection, the characters in their relationship to their own publication medium.
Pixi worked on the pose so that it was slightly different from usual compositions: the two characters are looking towards the imaginary goal, not towards the action. The metal restores the two uniforms with their differences in rank and wear.
275 copies, 2022: the editorial tribute
275 copies numbered in 2022, red box and certificate. The Spirou ad is one of the most unusual compositions in the collection.
