Pixi Captain Stark charging, 250 copies: the rider in action
Stark is represented galloping on his horse, in the posture of the cavalry leader leading the assault: saber raised, chest leaning forward, hair under the kepi. The hand-painted metal recreates the galloping movement in the horse's legs, the tension of the rider leaning in effort, the northern uniform with its officer's stripes.
The galloping horse is the main technical challenge of this composition: to reproduce the movement on three stable support points, in heavy metal, without losing the lightness of the load. The hooves are worked in their contact with the ground.
