Pixi Asterix Plutoque planned in the trunk, 300 copies: three hidden Gauls
The hollow tree trunk is reconstituted in metal around the three characters: Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix hidden inside in forced contortion postures. Obelix takes up too much space, Dogmatix overflows, Asterix's ears protrude: Uderzo had constructed the gag on the geometric impossibility of fitting these three volumes into this container. Pixi has reproduced this impossibility in metal.
The surface of the trunk is worked with a bark texture, the veins of the wood simulated by the paint. The three characters inside are painted in their respective colors, legible despite the constrained space of the composition.
