Gaston advances under a pile of books too high for him, green sweater too short, blue slippers, the smile of someone who has already agreed to drop everything. The eyes are closed, the pile is leaning, the yellow, blue and red slices are still holding. It's all of Franquin's poetics in one pose: chaos arranged just enough to fit on a base.
